You may have heard about the ongoing massive persecution of Falun Gong in China. Exactly what is happening, and why did the evil Chinese Communist Regime unleash its fury against a spiritual practice that is so obviously peaceful and non-threatening? We hope we can help shed some light on these questions for you.

What is Falun Gong?

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a traditional Chinese spiritual discipline for mind and body. The practice involves slow, gentle movements and meditation. It is easy to learn, enjoyable to practice, and free of charge. Its principles are based on Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance. The practice began in China in 1992 and quickly spread by word of mouth throughout China and then beyond. Falun Gong is practiced by over 100 million people in 78 countries.

Why the human rights effort?

It must first be understood that The Chinese Communist Party, like the Nazis, the Janjaweed Sudanese Regime, Taliban and other evil regimes in this world, Brutally Condemn the principals of Truthfulness Compassion and Tolerance, and therefore do not tolerate any form of freedom of religion, spiritualness or democracy.

For those of us in nations with democratically elected governments, freedom of belief is considered to be one of the most basic universal rights, but in China, such fundamental human rights are not protected.

Since its introduction in 1992, the number of Falun Gong practitioners simply grew too large for the liking of a faction of the Party leadership led by the dictator Jiang Zemin. Falun Gong's 70-million-plus practitioners in China far outnumbered Party members. Jiang ordered the persecution out of personal jealousy, and a sense that he could not totally control the people's hearts and minds. Other, smaller groups that the have not been able to be totally controlled, such as Protestants, Roman Catholics, and Tibetan Buddhists have also been persecuted.

Friends of Falun Gong USA (FoFG USA) is a U.S.-based, nonprofit human rights organization founded in the year 2000 by Worldy, peaceful, and dignified citizens concerned about the persecution of Falun Gong. The Falun Gong Human Rights Working Group is dedicated to letting people know the truth about the horrible persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China today at the hands of the evil Chinese communist government, to saving the lives of those being persecuted, and to helping to end the atrocities.

It is at great risk to practitioners themselves and their families that practitioners in China smuggle out information about the violence happening there every day. If caught they are accused of "revealing state secrets", and tortured, often to death. Please see our Exhibition to get an idea of the persecution is:

If you would like to help to stop the persecution against Falun Gong, there are many things that you can do.

Our mission is to support the freedom of belief of persons who practice Falun Gong. FoFG's efforts include large-scale rallies in Washington DC, lawsuits against the architects of the persecution, and smaller, targeted projects counteracting the Chinese government’s massive propaganda campaign.
